ATV Adventure Combo with Snorkeling, Ziplines, Cenote, and Lunch

Puerto Morelos sits quietly between Cancun and Playa del Carmen, and this full-day combo packs together the region's signature outdoor activities into a single outing: a reef snorkel, jungle ATV riding, a zipline circuit, and a cenote swim, all with a Mexican meal included along the way. It's built for travelers who want to sample the Riviera Maya's best-known adventures without booking four separate excursions.

The day starts in the water at the national reef park in Puerto Morelos, home to a section of the second-largest barrier reef system on the planet. Snorkeling equipment is provided so you can drift over the coral formations and get a look at the marine life sheltering among them. From there, the group moves to a private beach club for a Mexican-style morning meal of chicken and pork tacos, plus bottled water, giving everyone a chance to refuel before the more physical part of the day begins.

Next comes the ATV portion, where you climb behind the wheel and head into the Mayan jungle on a rough trail marked by mud, stones, climbs, and descents, either solo or paired up with a partner or family member. Safety equipment and ATV insurance are included. Once the dust settles, the group heads to a zipline circuit strung through the treetops, followed by a stop at a cenote, one of the limestone sinkholes the ancient Maya regarded as a passage to the underworld, for a cooling swim to close out the day.

This combo suits travelers with at least a moderate level of fitness who want an active, adrenaline-leaning day rather than a slow sightseeing pace. Because ATVs and ziplines both carry physical requirements, it's a better match for capable adults and older kids than for very young children or anyone with mobility concerns. The mix of a coral reef, jungle terrain, aerial ziplines, and a cenote in one itinerary is what sets it apart from single-activity tours in the area.

Bring a change of clothes, a towel, closed-toe shoes, a swimsuit, sunscreen, biodegradable insect repellent, sunglasses, and a bandana for the ATV leg of the day. Cell phone use is restricted during the activities for safety reasons, so plan to leave devices stowed. Pickup runs from hotels in Cancun and Playa del Carmen between 8:00 and 8:30 AM, while Tulum guests are collected earlier, between 7:00 and 8:00 AM, with an aim of reaching the park by 9:30 AM; Tulum pickup happens at the Super Aki supermarket downtown. If your hotel isn't on the standard pickup list, the operator will contact you directly to arrange a meeting point and time.

Admission to the ATV course and the cenote, the reef park entrance fee, snorkeling gear, ATV insurance and safety equipment for the ziplines, bottled water, and the morning meal are all included in the price. Tips and the federal port tax fee for Puerto Morelos are not covered and should be budgeted separately. Note the physical restrictions before booking: this isn't recommended for travelers with spinal injuries, pregnant travelers, or those with poor cardiovascular health, and there's a 270-pound weight limit for ziplines and 300 pounds for ATVs. Only adults 18 and older may drive their own ATV; anyone 17 or younger must ride with an adult.
