South of Cancun, the jungle around Puerto Morelos hides a network of mud trails, sinkholes, and rope-and-cable canopy lines that make for a full day of hands-on adventure. This tour strings together three distinct terrains in one outing: quad biking through the forest floor, a swim in a Mayan cenote, and a zipline circuit above the treetops, with round-trip transportation and lunch bundled into the day.

The day begins behind the wheel of an ATV, working through a course built to test coordination as much as nerve. Muddy stretches and water crossings interrupt the trail, and part of the appeal is simply staying upright and in control as the machine bucks over roots and puddles. ATV insurance is part of the package, so the focus stays on the ride rather than the paperwork. This opening stretch runs about 45 minutes before the group moves on to the next terrain.

From the ATV course, the route leads to a cenote, one of the limestone sinkholes the Yucatan is famous for and a site the ancient Maya regarded as sacred. There are several ways into the water here: travelers looking for a jolt can jump from a platform or launch off the zipline directly into the pool, while anyone who prefers a gentler entry can use the ladder instead. Either way, the payoff is the same, a stretch of clear, cool water tucked into the rock about an hour long. The zipline circuit follows, sending riders across the jungle canopy on a system built to internationally recognized safety standards. Multiple lines cross the forest at height, each offering a different sightline over the treetops before the group descends for the final stop.

That last stop is a Mayan restaurant, where the pace slows and the day wraps up over a regional meal, included as part of the package along with drinks, before the return transfer.

This is a tour for travelers who want to be active rather than watch from the sidelines, and who are comfortable getting muddy, wet, and a little jostled along the way. Because participants 18 and older are required to drive their own ATV, it works well for adults and older teens riding solo machines, while younger children can still take part riding along with an adult. The combination of three activities in a single outing, rather than a single-focus tour, is what sets this apart from a standalone zipline or cenote visit; there's less downtime and more variety packed into one pickup.

Practically speaking, pack a change of clothes, a towel, closed-toe shoes, a bathing suit, sunglasses, and a bandana, and use biodegradable sunscreen and repellent to protect the cenote's ecosystem. Phones, cameras, drones, and other valuables aren't permitted during the activities, so leave them behind or secured. The tour isn't recommended for travelers with spinal injuries, poor cardiovascular health, or those who are pregnant, and a weight limit applies to the ATVs; a moderate baseline level of fitness is expected. Transportation is provided in an air-conditioned vehicle with pickup timed to a morning or noon schedule depending on your hotel zone, and a representative will confirm your exact pickup time and location by message once you've shared where you're staying; Tulum guests meet at the Super Aki supermarket downtown. The package covers park admission, ATV insurance, safety equipment, round-trip transportation, one bottle of water, and two tacos at the restaurant stop, while locker rental and any photo package or souvenirs are available at extra cost.
