The day opens with roughly two hours inside Chichen Itza itself, led by a bilingual guide who walks the group through the site's major structures, including the Temple of Kukulkan and the ancient ball court, explaining the astronomical alignments and architectural choices that made the Maya's engineering so precise. From there, the tour moves to the town of Kaua for a change of pace: a demonstration of regional Mayan cooking using local ingredients, followed by time to sit down to a buffet meal, giving the group about two hours to eat and absorb a side of Yucatecan culture that doesn't come through in ruins alone.

The afternoon shifts from history to nature at Cenote Nool Ha, part of the Chichikan site, where roughly an hour is set aside for swimming in the cenote's cool, clear water. Before heading back, the group makes a brief panoramic stop in Valladolid, one of Yucatan's officially recognized Pueblos Magicos, to take in its colonial streets and architecture on a short guided pass through downtown.

The tour price covers a certified guide, transportation in an air-conditioned vehicle, two bottles of water, and the buffet lunch in Kaua. It does not include admission to the archaeological zone and cenote, which is paid separately when boarding the vehicle at a stated rate of 47 USD per adult and 20 USD per minor; Mexican nationals with a current INE ID receive a preferential rate. Locker rental at the sites, drinks at the restaurant, and souvenirs, personal expenses, and tips are also excluded, so it's worth carrying extra cash for the day.

Pickup is arranged at major hotels along the Riviera Maya; guests staying in downtown Playa del Carmen, along Carretera a Boca Paila, or at hostels, motels, or Airbnbs with limited vehicle access will be assigned a separate meeting point rather than a door pickup.
