Along the Riviera Maya, a single day can take you from the hushed, mineral-scented air of an underground cenote to open water shared with sea turtles, and this outing links both settings into one four-and-a-half-hour circuit. It pairs a swim through a Mayan cenote with snorkeling off Akumal's shoreline and closes with lunch at a beach club, giving travelers a compact sampler of the region's two signature natural draws: its freshwater sinkholes and its reef-adjacent marine life.

The day opens with round-trip pickup from hotels across Cancun and the Riviera Maya, after which the group heads to one of the region's cenotes for roughly an hour in the water. From there, the route continues to Akumal, a low-key beach community known for calm water and abundant marine life. With a guide leading the way, the group spends about an hour snorkeling just offshore, scanning for the sea turtles that regularly feed in the grass beds there alongside tropical reef fish.

The final hour shifts the pace entirely: the group settles in at an exclusive beach club for lunch and downtime before the return drive. Snacks such as water, fruit, and crackers are served aboard the vans between stops, and a bilingual guide stays with the group throughout to narrate both the cenote and the snorkeling segments.
