Horseback Riding & ATV Combo with Ziplines and Cenote Swimming
The experience
Deep in the Mayan jungle south of Cancun, a single outing can string together four very different ways of moving through the forest: on an ATV, on a zipline cable, in the water of a cenote, and, depending on the package you choose, on horseback. This combo tour is built around that variety, letting you pick the exact mix of activities that suits your day.
The core of the visit runs about five hours and centers on an ATV and zipline circuit through jungle trails, with the vehicles and safety gear supplied on site. Riders old enough to hold a license drive their own ATV, while younger travelers ride along with an accompanying adult. The zipline stretch of the circuit sends you across the treetops on cables strung through the forest canopy, and the day builds toward a swim in a cenote, one of the freshwater sinkholes that pool beneath the jungle floor in cool, clear water. For those who add the horseback riding option, a separate stretch of the visit shifts the pace entirely, guiding you along scenic jungle trails on horseback for a quieter, slower look at the same landscape.
This is a tour for travelers who want to sample several adventure activities rather than commit a full day to just one, and the horseback riding add-on in particular appeals to anyone who wants a calmer complement to the adrenaline of the ATV and zipline circuit. The operator recommends at least a moderate level of physical fitness and advises against the activity for travelers with spinal injuries, poor cardiovascular health, or pregnancy. There are also specific weight limits to be aware of: 220 pounds for horseback riding, 300 pounds for the ATVs, and 270 pounds for the ziplines, so factor those into whichever combination of activities you book. Only adults 18 and older are permitted to drive their own ATV, and any children 17 or under must ride with an adult.
Included in the package are ATV insurance and fees, two pork tacos, the ATV and zipline circuit itself, transport in an air-conditioned vehicle, the cenote swim, safety equipment across all the activities, and horseback riding when that option is selected. Lockers run an extra 5 USD and are not part of the included price, and a photo package is likewise available separately rather than bundled in.
Pickup is organized by zone and by tour time. The morning departure picks up from the Cancun and Playa del Carmen zone between 8:00 and 8:30 am and from the Tulum zone between 7:00 and 8:00 am, arriving at the park around 9:30 am. A noon departure picks up from Cancun and Playa del Carmen between 12:00 and 12:30 pm and from Tulum between 11:00 am and 12:00 pm, arriving at the park around 1:30 pm; exact pickup times inside those windows are confirmed by the operator via email or text based on your specific hotel. Guests staying in Tulum hotels or Airbnbs without a listed pickup point are directed to meet at the Super Aki Tulum supermarket downtown instead, so plan your own transportation time to reach that spot. If you book a zone different from where your hotel is actually located, the reservation needs to be corrected through the booking engine, since pricing varies by zone. Pack a change of clothes, a towel, closed shoes, a bathing suit, biodegradable sunscreen, insect repellent, sunglasses, and a bandana to be ready for the mix of driving, ziplining, swimming, and riding across the day.
