Off the coast of Cozumel lies El Cielo, a shallow sandbar famous for its starfish and glass-clear water, and this full-day boat excursion is built around reaching it along with two other nearby reef sites. Departing by boat from Cozumel, the nine-hour outing pairs snorkeling stops with a beach visit, giving travelers a full day on and around the water rather than a quick single-site dip.

The day is structured around visits to two different reefs plus the centerpiece stop at El Cielo itself, where the sandbar's transparent shallows make the starfish resting on the bottom easy to see without disturbing them (guides ask that you look but not touch). Snorkeling equipment is provided for these stops, and drinks are available on board the boat as you move between sites. Note that during September 2023 the operator substituted Xhul Ha and Palancar (Herradura) for the usual Palancar and Colombia reefs while those sites were protected, so the exact reefs visited can shift depending on conservation needs.

After the reef stops, the boat brings guests to Cielito Beach, where the pace slows considerably. This is the spot to stretch out on white sand, wade in the shallows, or simply sit and listen to the waves after the morning's snorkeling. A box lunch breakfast is served, along with a sit-down lunch later where you choose one dish, giving the day a natural rhythm of activity followed by food and rest.

Because the day runs long, at nine hours total, and mixes multiple snorkeling stops with unhurried beach time, this tour suits travelers who want a complete day trip rather than a short excursion, including those traveling with family, since the tour is described as suitable for all physical fitness levels and infants are welcome as long as they sit on an adult's lap. It is not recommended for travelers with spinal injuries, pregnant travelers, or those with poor cardiovascular health, but otherwise the relaxed pacing and beach component make it more accessible than tours focused purely on active swimming.

The package covers the box lunch breakfast, ferry ticket and boat trip with two drinks per person included on board, snorkeling equipment, a lunch of your choice, and the stops at Cielito Beach and the reefs including El Cielo. Not included are additional drinks ordered at the restaurant, taxi transport back to the Cozumel dock, and the federal dock fee, so it is worth budgeting for those extras separately.
