VIP tour to Chichen Itza, Hubiku & Ik Kil. Lunch and transport
La experiencia
Chichén Itzá draws travelers from across the Yucatán for good reason — the stepped silhouette of El Castillo rising above the plaza is one of the clearest windows into Maya engineering anywhere in Mexico. This full-day tour pairs a guided visit to the site with stops at two cenotes and a walk through a colonial town, turning a single landmark visit into a broader look at the region's history and landscape.
The day begins with hotel pickup in Cancún or the Riviera Maya, followed by the drive to Chichén Itzá, where a certified guide walks the group through the ruins for roughly two hours, explaining the role the city played in Maya civilization and pointing out details of its architecture and layout. From the archaeological site, the route heads into the jungle to Cenote Hubiku, a cenote reached by descending into a rock formation where clear, cool water offers a chance to swim for about an hour before continuing on.
The next stop is Cenote Ik Kil, known for its clear water and the vegetation hanging over its rim, where guests swim for roughly an hour before sitting down to a regional buffet lunch. The day winds down in Valladolid, a colonial town founded in 1543, where a shorter stop allows time to walk past its church, browse local handicrafts, and take in the colored building facades before the drive back to the hotel.
This tour fits travelers who want breadth over depth in a single day — those curious about Maya history, cenote swimming, and small-town Yucatán life without booking three separate excursions. It's built for general fitness levels, though it isn't recommended for travelers with spinal injuries, poor cardiovascular health, or those who are pregnant, given the swimming and walking involved across multiple stops. Compared to a Chichén Itzá-only day trip, the added cenotes and Valladolid stop give the day more variety, at the cost of more time on the road.
Admission to Chichén Itzá is included, along with a certified guide and a borrowed umbrella for sun or rain, plus admission to both Hubiku and Ik Kil, the latter including a life vest for the swim. Meals are covered as well, with a box breakfast and a regional buffet lunch, along with drinks on board the vehicle during transit. Backpacks are not permitted inside the archaeological site, so plan to carry only what fits in pockets or a small bag left with the guide.
What isn't included are drinks ordered at the restaurant beyond what's provided and any taxes charged for professional or GoPro cameras used inside Chichén Itzá, so factor that in if you're bringing serious camera gear. Pickup runs on a single schedule between 6:30 and 7:45 AM, with the exact time varying by hotel; travelers should list their hotel in the booking notes so a representative can confirm the precise pickup time by email or text ahead of the trip.
