ATV, Zipline and Cenote at Extreme Adventuring with Tulum Pickup
L'expérience
Deep in the Mayan jungle along the Ruta de los Cenotes sits Extreme Adventure Eco Park, a stretch of forest built for travelers who want more than a single souvenir photo. This tour bundles three distinct activities into one outing: an ATV ride through the trees, a zipline circuit strung between platforms, and a swim in a natural limestone cenote. It's the kind of day trip that trades a slow, scenic itinerary for constant motion, and it starts with pickup from a central meeting point in Tulum.
The day opens behind the wheel of a 4x4 ATV, guided along jungle trails where the canopy closes in overhead and the path twists past roots and undergrowth. Once the engines quiet down, the group moves to the zipline course, a five-line circuit that also includes three interactive suspension bridges strung between wooden platforms. Riders clip in and cross the gaps in the tree line one line at a time, alternating between the rush of the cable and the wobble of the bridges underfoot before working toward the final descent.
The last stop is the cenote itself, a 100% natural Mayan sinkhole with its own zipline and jumping platform built right into the rock. After the heat and dust of the ATV trail, this is where the tour cools down for real: swimmers can ease into the water from the edge or launch off the platform for a proper cannonball into the cool, mineral-clear pool. A regional snack is served as part of the visit, giving the group a chance to regroup before the return transfer.
This tour suits travelers who want variety packed into a single afternoon rather than a full day devoted to one activity, and who are comfortable getting dirty, wet, and a little out of breath in the process. Groups are capped at 14 people, which keeps the pace personal and the guides — all bilingual professionals — able to give real attention to each rider rather than managing a crowd. It's a fit for active couples, groups of friends, and families with kids old enough to meet the height and age minimums, though it's not the right choice for anyone with spinal issues, cardiovascular concerns, or who is pregnant.
Because this is a hands-on, physically active circuit, dress for the outdoors: closed shoes are a practical call given the ATV and jungle terrain, and clothing you don't mind getting muddy or wet will serve you well across all three activities. Cameras and cell phones are not permitted during the adventure portions for safety reasons, so plan on being fully present rather than filming the ride. Riders operating an ATV solo must be 18 or older, while 16- and 17-year-olds can drive if accompanied by an adult; the minimum age to participate at all is 4, with a height minimum of one meter. Zipline riders are subject to a maximum weight of 120 kg and a maximum waist size of 1.24 meters.
The park entry, five-zipline circuit with its bridges, cenote access, ATV ride with insurance, conservation fee, round-trip transportation from the Tulum meeting point, and a regional snack are all included in the price. Gratuities, beverages, and locker rentals (available for a deposit) are not covered, so bring a little extra cash for those. Pickup logistics are handled ahead of time — the operator provides the exact pickup time for the Super Aki meeting point in downtown Tulum, and it's worth remembering that this start time differs from the pickup time itself, since local traffic can affect how long the transfer takes to reach the park.
