Chichen Itza Tour: Valladolid & Cenote Adventure with Buffet

Visitors are asked to leave backpacks behind, since they aren't permitted inside the site itself.

From the ruins, the group heads to a cenote — either Chichikan or Noolha, chosen according to that day's logistics — for around an hour of swimming in fresh water inside the limestone formations typical of this part of the Yucatan. Chichikan is described as more open-air, while Noolha has a more enclosed, cave-like feel; either way, the setting is framed as a chance to be in the jungle surroundings and take in the rock formations up close. A buffet lunch of regional Mexican dishes follows the swim, giving the group a chance to eat before the final stop. The tour then continues to Valladolid, a town recognized in Mexico as a Pueblo Magico for its architecture, streets, food, and residents, where travelers get about half an hour to walk around before the roughly two-hour return trip to the coast.
